You have taken the first step towards seeking counseling — an important step towards living the life you want. I am dedicated to helping people live healthier and happier lives. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina and have been working as a therapist for over 18 years. My favorite part of counseling is reminding people of how they felt, or thought about themselves, in the beginning of counseling. It's so rewarding to watch someone's eyes light up as they realize what has changed, or how they feel now. I love being in the passenger seat for that journey. I have completed many therapeutic trainings including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Didactic Developmental Psychotherapy, Experiential Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR. In my private practice, I use each of these approaches when working with individuals. My experience has been in line with the counseling research which shows that the most effective aspect of counseling is the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist. I try to use a respectful and person-centered approach. It is important to me that you feel empowered and secure in this process. I look forward to working with you.
